関西学院に対する爆破予告とその後の対応について

   インターネットの掲示板に、関西学院大学と関西学院の各学校の主要建造物を8月25日12時08分に爆破するという内容の書き込みがありました。大学のキャンパスと各学校では警察の協力のもと、施設内に不審物がないかの確認、不審者への警戒、施設周辺の巡回強化などを行いましたが、予告された時間帯以降、爆発等の被害はありませんでした。

   学校法人関西学院は、学生・生徒・児童・園児ならびに関係者・教職員の安全を最優先に考え、8月25日（火）は終日、関西学院大学の各キャンパス及び関西学院の各学校をすべて閉鎖し、立ち入りを禁止していましたが、8月26日（水）以降、通常業務を再開いたします。ただし、新型コロナウイルス感染症の感染拡大に伴い、関西学院大学の各キャンパスは引き続き立ち入り禁止とし、電話による応対を除き窓口業務も停止しております。

   キャンパス・各学校への立ち入り禁止措置につきまして、ご理解・ご協力をいただきましたことに感謝いたします。今回の事案につきましては、関西学院は引き続き、所轄の警察と連携し、必要な措置を講じてまいります。

Concerning the University’s Response to a Bomb Threat Made Against the University, and Our Response to Future Incidents.

A post was found on an internet bulletin board stating that explosives would be detonated at the main buildings of Kwansei Gakuin University and Kwansei Gakuin schools at 12:08 pm on 25 August. In cooperation with the police, Kwansei Gakuin University and each Kwansei Gakuin school conducted checks of their campus facilities for suspicious objects, were on the lookout for suspicious persons, and strengthened security patrols around facilities. No damage, explosive or otherwise, was discovered after the stated time in the post. 

Kwansei Gakuin Educational Foundation considers the safety of all students, staff, and others related to the organization to be of the utmost importance, and decided to close all Kwansei Gakuin University campuses and Kwansei Gakuin schools for the entire day on Tuesday 25 August. Kwansei Gakuin will return to regular operations on Wednesday 26 August. However, due to the COVID-19 situation, Kwansei Gakuin University campuses will remain closed, and counter services will also be suspended, with the exception of responses made by phone.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation regarding the campus closure measures. Kwansei Gakuin will continue to cooperate with the police who are handling this incident, and take the necessary measures.
